An award winning musician, producer, and entrepreneur, Fabian Filiks continues to explore the boundaries of classical music, electronica, and shock rock, creating original and hauntingly atmospheric soundscapes.
Transcending genres and captivating the listener with emotional depth, his music has already attracted attention and a small following. Since his debut, Fabian has published over 100 pieces of music in various formats.
He has given dozens of live performances and extensively participates in the life of the Polish independent music scene by running his own independent record label Via Nocturna.
Fabian Filiks was born in February 1984 in Rybnik, Poland. In his childhood years, Fabian studied classical piano. He later learned to play the guitar and started writing music. It wasn’t until the release of “Withering Hopes” in 2006, Fabian’s debut dark ambient album, that he decided to begin his music “career”.
A few years later, Fabian (aka. Moloch) formed Zørormr – an extreme metal project and probably his best-known act up to date. Inspired by the Norwegian second wave of black metal, Zørormr released its debut album “Kval” in 2009. With the help of Polish musicians Przemysław Olbryt (lead guitar) and Łukasz Sarnacki (drums), the project has released three full-length albums and one EP, with a new record planned to be out later in 2022. Fabian has also worked with guest musicians like Mike Wead (King Diamond / Mercyful Fate), Cezar (Christ Agony), and Shadow (Black Altar). He also collaborated with Polish top music producers, Arek “Malta” Malczewski (Behemoth) and Arkadiusz “Aro” Jabłoński (Masachist).
In 2018 Fabian started performing live with his darksynth / synthwave project Moloch, later transformed into Doctor Visor. Apart from two big tours in Poland, he played at Castle Party Festival, Soundrive Festival, and Hoym Fest. He also supported Perturbator twice in Gdańsk and Warszawa.
Another landmark in Fabian’s musical “career” was the release of “Vertigo” (2021), a dark jazz album inspired by Hitchock’s movie under the same name. In 2022 Fabian recorded a musical homage (an anty-symphony) for Mariupol & it’s people and donated the income to humanitarian aid for Ukraine. His latest solo creation, the “Nocturnal Avenue” EP, is premiered in November of 2022.
Nowadays, Fabian is working on at least four new records to be released in 2023 & 2024. He also returned to the stage as Doctor Visor and intends to perform with other musical projects as well.
Apart from his artistic activities, Fabian is also a graphic designer and runs a boutique advertising agency. He also holds a Ph.D. degree in German Philosophy.
